Command And Clanker

Command & Clanker

Command & Clanker is a fast paced, team based 4X territory control game where strategy meets chaos on a hex based battlefield. Three factions enter. One leaves on top.

Each team is split into two distinct roles that must work together to win.

Turn your music ON IN-GAME. Trust us. It's needed. FOR SUPPORT: DM vibetheory or liamsystems on discord. NOTE: We plan to continue this project even after the Modjam, updates will follow.

Core Details:

  • Players: 6 total (3 teams of 2)
  • Match Length: 20 minutes
  • Control 7 hexes, or
  • Have the most territory when time expires

Units at Your Command:

  • Enforcer: Heavy frontline bruiser
  • Striker: Fast, semi-ranged damage dealer
  • Harvester: Gathers resources from nearby hexes for extra CP
  • Recon: Aerial scout that reveals enemy movement
  • Repairer: Support unit that follows and heals allies

Team Roles

The Commander (Web Player)

The brain of the operation. The Commander controls unit deployment, positioning, and strategy from a top down web interface.

On joining the lobby, the Commander receives a Server ID and Join Code to connect at: https://cc.hytalecore.com

The Clanker (In-Game Player)

Boots on the ground. The Clanker handles PvP combat, hex capturing, and real time intel for the Commander.

You can't control units, but you are the chaos they move behind.

Territory Control

  • Hexes are captured by placing 3 blocks of wool in the capture tower
  • Stay inside the hex with allied units until it's claimed
  • Enemy hexes can be contested at any time by:
    • Destroying enemy wool
    • Placing your team's wool
    • Holding the area until capture completes

Resources & CP

  • Resources spawn across three special resource hexes
  • These hexes must be claimed first
  • Harvesters extract resources and return them to your home hex
  • Successfully delivered resources convert into Command Points (CP)

More CP = more units = more pain for your enemies.

Installation

  1. Place the .jar file into your mods folder
  2. Add the FLAT and PORTAL worlds to universe/worlds
  3. Boot the server once, then shut it down
  4. Open the newly created commandandclanker folder inside mods
    • Set your PUBLIC Server IP
    • Set an open Query/Web port (This is NOT the server port)
    • (Example: On Nitrado, game port +9 works. +3 is reserved for mods.)
    • You may need to NAT/Port forward if local.
  5. Boot the server again
  6. Players join and run: /tp world PORTAL
  7. Head down the stairs to the portal room and use /lobby join (each player)
  8. Once all players are ready: /lobby start or if 6 join, it will auto start.
